InSEA Research and Praxis: Open and Flexible
The InSEA Research and Praxis Board is an aspect of the InSEA philosophy to present information in various forms to all educators involved in the arts. Our research and praxis publications seek to promote good practice and cutting-edge research in the field, which is electronic and has open access to this website. The delivery of contemporary arts practices may be presented in video formats like our Webinars, Visual Essays, Essays, White Papers, or other forms of delivery of the various research platforms. We promote a wide range of research and praxis from a diverse set of educational contexts from community-based art to a more formal university and school praxis in addition to arts-based educational research. Art in this context applies to a wide range of applications to include but not limited to art, craft, and design. We recognize the importance of the interdisciplinary nature of our practices and we invite research and praxis that includes other disciples and how these interact, inform, or influence art practices and the arts communities.
If you are interested in submitting a research or praxis article, video, or white paper, please refer to the IJETA or IMAG journals for stylistic guidance. All submissions are reviewed through a blind, peer-review process by the members of the Research and Praxis Board to ensure a high-quality publication that is available on our website.
InSEA Research and Praxis publications peer-review process
The proposal is submitted to the Research and Praxis Board (online).
The proposal is reviewed by at least three members of our Research and Praxis Board representing the six InSEA regions.
The proposal is either accepted by peer-review for publication or declined with suggestions from the Board.
The InSEA Research and Praxis Board sends the review to the author(s) with a description of any revisions needed.
The Research and Praxis Chair forwards the approved submission to the InSEA Executive Council for final approval and publication.

The Research and Praxis Board is chaired by an elected InSEA Vice-president who is joined by six elected regional World councillors.

Normally, each member serves a two-year term.
The Research and Praxis Board supports collecting, reviewing, and publishing contemporary arts practices in the forms of White Papers, Video Documentations, Webinars, Essays, and Visual Essays. The Board also supports and reviews the InSEA Awards: the Herbert Read Award, the Mahmoud El-Bassiouny Award, the Edwin Ziegfeld Award, the InSEA Doctoral Research Award in Art Education Award, the Excellence in Research in Education Through Art award, and the Excellence in Praxis award. All awards are selected biennially to be awarded at each InSEA World Congress. All candidates selected by the Board are sent to the InSEA Executive Board for final approval.
