Region: Europe

I joined the world council in 2017 as one of the three representatives of the European region. I have worked very hard to be part of the European and World team and have learnt so much from my colleagues in other regions, through world council meetings and our shared collaborative work. I have also taken on shared responsibility for extending the reach of InSEA through social media platforms, for helping to co-ordinate the photo project for the International Arts Week (Unesco) #moreARTnotless project, and for working collaboratively to create the 2018 InSEA Manifesto, of which I am particularly proud. http://www.insea.org/InSEA-Manifesto. I am particularly interested in working towards extending the reach and remit of InSEA and using modern technologies (as well as face to face events) to increase collaboration and co-operation, between people, regions and countries. I am thoroughly enjoying the international aspects of being part of the World Council, as it builds on my own advocacy and teaching work here in the United Kingdom and allows me to understand international perseoctives but also to explore the common ground that all art educators have. My current term of office leaves me with another year to serve, and I am standing for election again as I would like to extend my time, commitment, passion and interest in this role for a further two years. I believe that I still have much to offer to support and to grow the very important and vital work of InSEA. I will give it 100% commitment. #moreARTnotless
