CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
WORKING TITLE: Learning through art: International Perspectives
EDITORS: Glen Coutts and Teresa Torres de Eça.
As part of a series of innovative InSEA publications, the first of which will be published at the INSEA European Congress in Helsinki, June 2018 we invite proposals for the next volume – to be published by InSEA Publications at a regional congress in 2020. The publication will be available as a download (pdf) to InSEA members through the InSEA website 'Member's Bookshelf' section
The Learning through art series revisits the concept of education through art with the aim of promoting discussion, through art, education and practice-based research, the emergent need for new paradigms of education. Our aim is to investigate ways in which the visual arts might help to build new educational models for a sustainable future. Essentially, the series provides selected key texts and visual essays in the form of an open-source E-book with the help of members of the International Society for Education through art (InSEA). The publications present the multifaceted scenario of visual arts education and education through art in the early stages of the 21st century.
NOTE: The terms ‘arts’, ‘crafts’ and ‘design’ should be interpreted broadly to include, for example, crafts, indigenous making, media and product or service design.
The editors invite submissions of a synopsis of the proposed contribution (no more than 500 words, or 100 words for a visual essay)
Emphasis is placed on contributions that critically reflect on:
